1969 Longhorn: you be the judge
As I trickled down the local classifieds as per usual I came across a 69 longhorn in one of my favorite colors. Owner said it had been driven only a handful of times the last 20 years and none in the last 5 not even started. I had my doubts but he was asking a meager price so I humored him and came and took a look. Long story short I drove an hour trip home with a truck that hadn't been moved in 5 years. Not a single problem. Gave her a bath threw on some new tires and replaced a leaking heater core and still haven't even spend a grand on her. It's an early production 69 out of Fremont. Original paint which is not too shabby a few dents but it's a truck. And original brown interior( correct my terminology i can't recall the real name at the moment). A perfect dash pad and to top it of the original build sheet neatly tucked away behind the seat. However I wasn't lucky enough to have an original motor. But a 66 Chevelle 283 with a th350 and posi 4:10 it can pull anything. Named her Gloria. Some pictures are before the bath and engine bay refreshing.

Very nice score! It's always great when you can drive them home and have everything go well.

Re: 1969 Longhorn: you be the judge
More pictures on the at gentlemen! Glad you guys enjoy her! She's gettin some exhaust done tommorow and post work I will try to remember pictures! Threw some long tubes on it to replace some ugly lightly fractured ramhorns(shame they aren't salvageable). Makes me proud to keep an old truck on the road and alive rather then scrapping!!

Re: 1969 Longhorn: you be the judge
I know it seems silly but is the Longhorn a longer wheelbase truck or just a long bed on the standard long box frame.

Re: 1969 Longhorn: you be the judge
Not a silly question! People ask me all the time if I put in a chunk of another bed!! You have a good question compared to other ones I get! Got her back from exhaust today and time for some mufflers! Any suggestions? I want it to sound nice and rumble but not obnoxious..
