ATTN fuelCellGuy
I was hoping you could give me some pointers.
I want to make myself a tank out of stainless steel and cant quite figure out the baffels. Do you have any pics of your tanks with the pickups and baffels that you would be willing to share? I also want to be able to run an external mechanical pump(stock) and have the option to change to an internal tank electric pump (if i change to efi) any help or other pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Try to do a search on this site in this section and over in the general discussion section at myoldtruck.com for the tank fuelcellguy made for me. He did detailed pics that will show you the baffels.
I know the pics were posted over at myoldtruck.com but I can't recall if they got posted here. There was a crash over there with the loss of some posts, so if you can't find it, pm me your e-mail address and I will send the pics to you in the morning.

My tank sits up on top of the bed so the pickup is just a threaded fitting welded on the bottom of the tank. Also, I am just using a mechanical fuel pump. Sorry no help on those questions.

I can't help on the baffles too much because when I made the stainless tank for my 91, I cut the original tank apart and used the plastic baffles from it. Anyway, what you could do is to sump the bottom of the tank and have an AN fitting installed in the sump. You will want the sump at the rear of the tank as you don't want to starve yourself of fuel when accelerating.
Obviously you will want the vent & filler(2" OD tubing for fill, 5/8 OD for the vent is what I used)is out the top. If you are running a vapor return line from a charcoal canister, you can tee it into the vent line(worked for my application). You should have no problem with the mechanical pump. As far as making it TPI ready, instead of going with the hassle of an intank pump, you can buy an inline TPI fuel pump from such places as TPI Tech, and other places specializing in TPI. I beleive Summit & Jegs both sell a Holley inline elect. pump for around $150. The TPI Tech pump I believe is $125. You obviously will want an adjustable pressure regulator when running the TPI also... Hope this was of some help. BTW- I don't know what finish you plan on using on your cell but I would not use the #10 Mirror Finish. I did on mine and it looks nice BUT it is a NIGHTMARE to keep clean...

Forgot to mention, I am not 100% positive if it is correct but I have heard that you can take the return line for the TPI & run it back into the supply line instead of running it all the way back to the tank. I heard that you tee it in BEFORE it gets to the fuel filter.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I was into these TPI motors....
