will this brake booster work?
hey guys..
i found this on craigslist and can you guys tell if this will work with my front disc brake conversion? how can i tell when i am looking for brake boosters if they will work with front disc brakes and rear drums? Thanks! |

You need the brake booster for a 1971-72 assuming you have the 1971-72 master cylinder.
If you don't have a 1971-72 master cylinder then you need to get one because from 1967-70 drum brakes were standard and used a different master cylinder/prop valve. In fact the bracketry and push rod are completely different as well and a hole will have to be drilled into the brake pedal 1" higher than the factory mounting location. That's not true actually. there are many other years of power boosters/ MC combos you can use. 73-87 Chevy trucks are good donor setups. You might have to change a few things, but you can make it work.

You are right but it's a lot easier to simply bolt in the 1971-72 unit than to try and reinvent the wheel, I'm just trying to make it easy for the guy.
