switched eddy 750 to holley 750
I switched my eddy 750 to holley 750 and found I'm getting more power and better fuel economy. Still think I need lighter vacuum spring tho. Has anyone else noticed the difference in these carburetors ? The eddy was just to sluggish. Here's what its in

Big block? An Edelbrock 750 is too big for a small block. I run a 1405 600CFM Edelbrock on my my 71 350.

the only time I saw a 750 Edelbrock work on a small block was with a underhood blower. Jim

Any carb can work fantastic...or any carb can work like crap. Doesn't matter the manufacturer if you don't know how to tune it.

Good move on the holley though. Now before you start tweaking the holley, optimize your timing first! |

Re: switched eddy 750 to holley 750
It could be timing , it was 16* at idle, but I dont trust my dissy. I bought a complete other one, but ran out of time to install. This carb still pulls harder than eddy did... just my opinion

Re: switched eddy 750 to holley 750
And it'll start better too!
Especially when it gets colder this fall. You did plug your vac advance off when you checked timing, didn't you? Have you proved your balancer/timing tab are correct? |

Re: switched eddy 750 to holley 750
I swapped everything over to Holley a couple years ago. The reason was how far Holley has come with their products. Power, mileage everything. Back to set it and forget it.
Don't get me wrong I'm a carb guy and have had Edelbrock, Quadrajets, old Holleys and a few oddball ones. These are all on daily driven vehicles and one weekend fun/race vehicle. |

Using the term set it and forget it and Holley in the same sentence? I guess things have changed.
