New to the board, ? on 79 gauges
Buying a 79 swb and the speedometer isn't working. What are a few things to check first? I worked at a hotrod shop for years but I was the body and paint guy. Gauges and wiring are foreign to me. Thanks and I love the board

do you have cruise?
does it go to the tranny? or is it a K to the transfer case? some have the cruise control mounted under the hood, maybe the cables are loose or stuck

I was going to mention if it has factory cruise it goes from transmission to driver side inner fender to a "box" then to the speedo. So technically two cables, a divider box and of course the speedo gear itself in transmission. This is for 2wd. I have no idea how 4wd is setup. Good luck, CT |
