Out of the snow!
My Truck is out of the snow and back on the road. I got the new turn signal switch in. Everything works except the brake lights. I had to swap some wires in the connector so the GMC switch would match up to the chevy connectors on the Painless wiring kit. Must still have one or two wrong. My starter is going out, and the tranny leaks, but it sure feels good to be driving it again. It's been parked in the back yard since early October! The 84 is up for sale!

Congrats on getting it going again. How would you rate the painless wiring kit? Pretty easy and straightforward? I went and picked up an engine and transmission (for free ) yesterday and was thiking of getting one of these wiring kits since rats seemed to want my old wiring more than I did. (truck sat in the woods for about 10 years lol) Which kit did you use?

I am most likely going to get a Painless Wiring kit as well. I am interested to hear how the process went. And like ItsNotABlazer said, which kit did you use? Thanks

The Kit I used is the factory style 63-66 Chevy/GMC Harness, Part #10112. It has all the original type connectors but converts the fuse box to a 12 circuit system with blade style fuses. Overall I'd say it was fairly easy to do. the wires are marked with easy to read tabs, but are also individually marked on the wires themselves. very tiny writing. It is a complete harness from headlight to taillights. I had a buddy helping who knows a little about wiring which helped a great deal.

Cool thanks for the part number. I checked Summit and theirs was $331.........just curious did you find it cheaper somewhere else? I am going to do some more checking around but just thought I would see what you found it for.

I got mine for $329.00 thru truckperformance.com, but I think that was a sale price.
