Man now i'm not so sure I want to put my grant on. But I need something smaller diameter than the stock one until I can afford to get the tank out of the cab for more leg room

They did send me the right horn adapter. But tunrs out, I had to leasve the 3 mount bolts a little loose to allow the horn retainer to come off the wheel far enough for the horn cap to stay on.

The real problem seems to be these bolts, and the shoulder not being long enough.

I took my Grant off a few yrs ago and put a 67 Nova wheel on it

Thanks for the kind offer OJ, but if I definately decide to buy one of those Moon wheels it would most likely be in Red or Black....but thanks anyway mate.

I used a Grant on mine and have been pretty happy with it. I did have to slightly bend in the indent portions around the horn cap to give it a better grip on the fiber plate but once that was done it has worked perfectly.

Man, I am having a similar proplem with my Grant steering wheel. I got everything installed, and it all seems correct. The horn button even seems to work right. The only problem is that the horn randomly just starts going off continuously. Not in a turn, or even driving! First time it happened was about 11:30 pm outside my house in the street, I'm sure all the neighbors loved that.

Anyone had any similar issues? Or have any ideas?

Okay so I have the same steering wheel as this thread was about. Today I went to push my horn button as someone cut me off pretty bad and when I pressed the horn button it stayed on. So I pulled over and disconnected the horn from the engine compartment at the horn itself. I took off the horn button to see if something was stuck and I couldn't find anything. I installed the horn button as per instructions put the spring back in and now my horn won't sound at all when I press the button. Any ideas of what I should look for?

Everything seems to be connected but I can't figure out for the life of me why my horn won't work any more.

You probably pushed the horn cup too far onto the fiber disc.

The horn cup has dimples and nubs. The small round dimples keep the cup on the fiber disc, the nubs keep the horn cup from pushing too far onto the fiber disc. You can take a punch and smack the dimples and make them protrude a bit more so the cup doesn't come off the disc too easily. You have to make sure the disc is positioned between the dimples and nubs.

You can make flat springs out of plastic and place under the fiber disc to make the horn work independent of the cup; meaning honking with just the fiber plate. Then the horn cap is just decoration... as it should be.
