3/5 question

Well it's almost time to get a lowering kit for my 84 swb. I had intended on 2.5" spindles and a hanger and shackle kit. I think now I am leaning towards 3" spindles and a flip kit. I plan to leave the stock rally wheels on till after paint. Pretty much going to be my last purchase unless I run up on something I can't pass up. This isn't going to be a daily driver at all. Will barely see pavement until it's finished. Since there seems to be a issue with the wheels running the control arms can a spacer be used instead of cutting on the arms? I know spacers aren't the safest option but since it will most likely not be on the road I would rather chance that then cutting on metal. Also if anyone wants to post pictures of their truck with the 3/5 I would definitely appreciate it. Also add what tire and wheel setup your running
