factory a/c on a 350
I recently bought a 1970 GMC, it has factory a/c on the orig 396. I want to pull the 396 and put in a 350. Does anyone know if I can use the factory a/c without to many modifications?

the 350 compressor mounts on the passenger side....
if thats where yours is at then all you need are the brackets... by the way...your big block brackets will bring a good buck...

my compressor is mounted with allen grove brackets.....
that compressor sell's for about 200.00 new.. but i bought it used with the brackets for 110.00 shipped from smonty......GREAT GUY BY THE WAY...... two bolts and it off...... pull one bolt and the belt it lays back..... no need to do anything to remove the valve cover

I dont see much wrong with having a 396 for a spare either. BB ac brackets are sought after ... me included. I have a partial set of SB ones for trading partially if interested.
As for the swap... I think you may need only sb brackets, correct sb pullies for ac .... hmm I can help you there also. Anyway... good luck on the swap. Rod

BBC A/C brackets
Did all of the BBC's have the compressor mounted on the drivers side ? How about the BBC's for 67-72 ? .......Thanks.....Zoomy
