Temp Sensor install help - New Champion radiator
Just bought a 4 core Champion radiator with electric fan thanks to the help of this fine forum. I'm trying to find the best spot for the temp sensor. After some research online, looks like I could use one of the ports on the intake, or the water pump. Problem is both ports on the intake are already taken, and the water pump has a bunch of hoses for the heater, which I don't want anyway. What should I do here? I already have my heater delete plates, should I just remove the heater and all the hoses, use one of the ports that will be freed up by removing the heater, and cap the rest? Thanks for the help.

Re: Temp Sensor install help - New Champion radiator
You might consider using a water outlet that has a bung, or two, in it for a sensor. That gives you another, or possibly 2 other port options. That is what I always used.

Maybe try something like this http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=483452
There is also complete replacement thermostats with ports built in. I wouldn't use the heater ports for accurate temp. |

You should also have a spot on each head where you could put a sensor.

Re: Temp Sensor install help - New Champion radiator
I believe the cylinder head outlet is where the heat sensor for the radiator is supposed to be mounted.

Re: Temp Sensor install help - New Champion radiator
I agree. However the pipe plugs in those locations can be a bit of a pain to get out if they have not been removed for a while.
