2006 Silverado spark plug change
Hello folks!!
This weekend I decided to switch out my long neglected spark plugs and wires. I went with AC Delco factory replacements. I am embarrassed to admit, but I have 195,000 on the original factory wires and plugs I think they were due for a change. Can anyone take a look at the pic and comet if this is typical of an old plug or is there something with the coloration I should be concerned about? Before I changed the plugs there was definite sluggish performance and upon crank up the RPM would spike just a little then settle down (a brief 500rmp spike). After the change out there is noticeable pep and uniform RPMs. I am skeptical but could the replacements cause this? Also, the old wires were shot, about half pulled apart in my hands as I tried to remove them. Any feedback appreciated! |

Re: 2006 Silverado spark plug change
oh, it looks better now and I'm not so concerned. I was looking at it before on my phone and couldn't see the pointed tip.

Re: 2006 Silverado spark plug change
I bought a 93 with 15K on it. Plugs had been changed but it had the factory wires. I put new Delcom wires on it and I could tell the difference in the performance before I got out of my driveway!
