Painting my engine
I am in the process of cleaning my engine and getting all of the grease off. Once I finish I am planning on painting it the original dark green( it's a 261). Will I have to use engine enamel or high heat paint or will regular spray paint work because I have some in the right color. If not where can I buy high heat dark green paint?

Re: Painting my engine
I would go with high temp paint just to be safe. Ive seen it at autozone and advanced. Im sure O'Reillys carries it too. When i did mine i also used a high temp primer.

Re: Painting my engine
I wire wheel'd every nook and cranny on my engine and went with POR-15 engine paint. Following instructions to the letter. The paint never did burn off even around the exhaust ports. On my next block I am going the same route.
But if your going to do it in the engine compartment I'd go with VHT hi-temp spray paint. Just remember that a clean surface is the difference between success and failure.
