steering column
I need to replace the shift collar on a 1982 gmc. I have no experience with this and need any help available. Also while I have it apart should I replace the turn signal assembly as well?

You would be better off getting a different steering column. It is relatively involve to do the shift collar. It takes specialty tools. If you are talking about the upper collar where the ignition switch is, that is pretty basic.
