Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
I will be using 15X8 ralley rims on my 70 Blazer, but I'm not sure which center is correct. Obviously the fronts will be hollow, but should the rears have the Chevy bowtie or the 4X4 logo? To be honest, I don't even know if these rims were even available from the factory for the Blazers.
Thanks. |

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
Those rims are definitely not period correct but the bow tie centers from what you show look nice.

I went with corvette ralleyes, b/c I will be doing some offloading, and didn't want my aluminum slots getting torn up. Just chucked up the cap in my lathe, and it made a clean cut Always liked the reflection on the center cap, looks like 'spokes' 20150117_102017 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06/]

It's like a prize, like "you win the internet for the day".
So - nothing. K

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
Thanks K, forgot to mention that I used bags in the wheels, so I wouldn't mess up the look of the package with wheel weights. Just cleaner!

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
They use them on tractor trailers to balance big tires, just throw the bag in the tire and it breaks open, and what ever is in the bag gets distributed to balance wheel and tire

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
Hmmm.. Interesting !! I've never heard of that. Would that work on passenger type tires?

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
Not sure, they sell them by size of tire. Maybe you could cut the bag open and dump some of the contents into the tire. I'm terrible at math, but someone should be able to calculate a%

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
Well, I'm really intrigued by this. Check out the link. Why wouldn't all vehicles use this? There must be some negatives.

Re: Which Ralley wheel center is correct?
I just called the company that makes these balancing beads. I was told that tires with an aspect ratio less than 65% require both weights and beads. They sell standard beads that will fit through the valve stem, and larger "off-road" beads which require breaking the bead for installation. The price for 8 ounces which is enough for a large 4X4 tire is around $19 plus shipping. Canadians can purchase them here-->http://www.pjf4x4.com/store/index.php

I would consider using them in my build, but would like to hear some non-biased opinions from someone that's used them. |

I sent a note to one of our Tire/Wheel design engineers to see if he was familiar with these and if we had done any testing. K
