unique parts truck

Just picked up this parts truck last night. It's a 63 gmc with factory chrome grill, chrome bumper and bumper gaurds, tachometer and clock. The weird thing is that it has a 60-61 gmc hood ornament and chevy side trim. Truck also had but is missing the dual spot lights. I just thought you guys would like to see it. Also got a project 66 gmc 3/4 4x4 with custom trim from same guy will post pics of that one tomorrow.

Re: unique parts truck

That hood ornament was shown in the 1962 GMC accessories catalog, so it was probably still available for 1963.

Re: unique parts truck

there is a gmc in my town that has all the chrome and a big back window, it also has the chevy side chrome... it could very well have been installed any time in the last 50 years... but after seeing it and yours, makes me wonder if maybe some dealers were able to special order it, or just installed it at a customers request?

Re: unique parts truck

Some nice parts on that parts truck. Like those grills. Lots of style in them. Tach looks like and original Sun tach from the late 60's. I have one in the dash of my 66 that I took out of the case. Fit perfect.

Re: unique parts truck

There are a lot of really nice parts, for sure. The tach has the GMC font for the numbers, which is hard to find. I'd like to see a better pic of the clock.

I'm assuming that because of the extensive rust on the lower fender that the cab floors and inner rockers are gone? If that truck was solid, it would be a really cool truck to build.

I was thinking special order or customer request as well.

I will take a better pic of clock once i get it cleaned up. Yes it would be a cool truck to build if it was solid but the truck has rust in all cab mounts, rockers, above the windshield and even the frame is pitted up so just parts.

Re: unique parts truck

If you decide to part it out I would be interested in the bumper, with bumper guards and brackets (If still in good shape).

Thanks!

Got some of the parts removed. Still have to remove the cab and doors, wheels and rear axle.

You might be right but all I know is that the last owner had a camper in the bed. Someone definitely had a purpose for it.
