Re: 5.3 4l60e swap what is tcm?

I appreciate the info guys. I have a 2000 silverado 4.8 4x4 my dd and the trans recently went out on me. Couldn't find a 4l60e trans for my truck but found one from a 4x4 s10. I put it in with a spacer you can get from summit racing and I've put close to 2k miles on the truck since and not one problem yet. So technically I should be able to do the same thing. Since the s10 trans was mated to a 4.3 which has the same bellhousing as a sbc.and the 97 model trans will also have the sbc bellhousing. So I'll have to buy the spacer again for this swap but my biggest concern is that all the sensor plugs seam to he the same but would I have to get my pcm reprogrammed to work with the 97 trans because they are a different year?
