I always liked Whites, even the newer ones. Once got a chance to drive a late 60's or early 70's White 9000 Single Axle Road Tractor. Had a 220 Cummins with a 10-Speed RR. No Power Steering, but it steered just fine in my opinion.
The thing that puzzled me about Whites though is that the 9000's were the Short Nose and the 4000's were the Long Nose trucks. Someone once explained to me why that was, but right now I can't remember, lol.
