Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
If I am not mistaken, aren't the rear doors from the 1960-1963 era trucks, since the windshied wrapped around --the doors did not extend as far forward and the angle of the windows is different. Is this the case or am I imagining this ? Kieth

Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
Keith,
if your asking if the rear doors on the 64-66 crews are doors from a 60-63, the answer is no. the rear doors on all the crews 60-66 are basically custom made from the specific year of the truck, they start with door skins and build from there. This is how I surmised they were done from looking at my dad's truck and 1 1962 crew cab and a 65 crew also.

Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
60-61 used a cut down 60-61 door, then in 62-66 they added a straight front post, however since there were many different coach companies, there were lots of variations.
the blue and white truck in post #2 is the most common style for 60-61, and the three trucks in post #5 are the most common style for 62-66.

Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
Stagecoach is who made my dad's and imo you can tell they were hand made with the exception of the rear of the door. I wonder who made the crews without the exposed door hinges.

Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
...well I was wrong on the 60-61's stage way looks to have had the straight post for the whole run-
here are some other flyers, the last pic has one with a longer rear door, but still the external hinge... somewhere I have a flyer for the internal hinge crew...

Here is my 64 3-door C20 Stageway-Armbruster rig. Though it is currently bagged in the rear, it actually sits 2" higher than this photoshop shot... It's been a slow build but the motor work is done and gettin ready for the trans and front end bags soon.....

Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
Yes, this is a real truck I saw it at a Super Chevy Sunday car show held at Lou Grubb Chevrolet in Phoenix, Arizona in 1987. I talked to the owner about it a little. It had a fifth wheel hitch mounted in the bed and the owner said he built it to pull his fifth wheel all around Arizona. He had the door trim for the rear doors custom made as this was not available from the coach company's that built them. It was a very nice build with no corners cut. I have not seen this again, may some of the other Arizona members will chime in if they have seen it still running around Arizona.

Re: Post 60-66 Crew cab pics!
Wow!! That was 25 years ago and I assume that the same owner still owns it? Did you happen to snap any pictures of it? Wish they had digital cameras back in 1987, I would have taken a bunch of pictures of it then. Does it still look the same as it does in the picure above?
