Re: A square panel
I don't think I've seen a square burb converted, with just a quick search I didn't find one. I think it'd look good.

Quick photochop to give you an idea. I like The idea. I had to elongate the window to make it look right, or would you want to delete the window?

Re: A square panel
I thought the OP was suggesting leaving the rear door and glass and replacing just the quarter window with metal.
From an execution standpoint - there's a weld flange there that the glass rubber sits over. You could just attach your sheetmetal to that flange and do the body work. Or - easier yet - just replace the window glass with metal and set the metal in the rubber gasket. K

Re: A square panel
DannyO Without the windows. I'm liking what I'm seeing though. But my idea was without the glass, like the panel trucks of the 50's and 60's.

Re: A square panel
So you want to keep it 4 door or make it 2 door?

Re: A square panel
Panel trucks have no windows. I thought about it on the '91 I had once it became my work truck. But, it would be hard to eliminate the side doors and give up the access guys who ran old panels would have killed for. Not sure how "panel" it would look with the doors, though. It would also be hard to give up the added ventilation. I toyed with just doing the quarter windows like IH used to do. In the end, I decided it all ready is a panel truck, only better. But, I'm going for a practical use, not a cool custom cruising machine. I now work out of a '95 K2500 Suburban base model with heavy duty options. I just did privacy glass and called it done. But my goal is to have an undercover work truck. You see it parked and it doesn't scream "Hey, I'm full of thousands of dollars worth of tools!", DOT leaves me alone, and I can go where commercial vehicles are restricted. The best part is I can flip the center seat up and have a crew cab with enclosed short bed.
