Finally posting up pics...I'll post this 67 first....gotta love the fab work on this truck. I talked too the owner, and he said he did must of the fab work himself. Love the smooth steps on the bed...

Yeah the cab is legnthend 6 inches.
The dash was brought back 6 inches too.
The font of the bed sides are reversed cab corners. I think the only thing on the bed that is not stock are the fenders. It has a late model bed floor.

He did a hell of a job on it.....was truck of the year for the goodguys show...

why in the world did he lengthen the cab 6 inches? That must have been a ton of work for that! That bed is killer!!! I wonder how good my long step would look with steps like that? You think you could photoshop something like that Zumo?

He lengthened it cuz he's a pretty tall guy. He also has a BEAUTIFUL 34 ford coupe. And you are right, he's been working on the truck for over 10 years. He build the bed himself. His name is Mike Hall. He's a genious when it comes to fabricating. I've been to his shop several times and he even helped a bit on my ac unit. didn't know who he was till after. His shop isn't big, but it's sweet. He spent over 100,000 on that truck. It has all air ride suspension and a 502 big block, if i'm wrong then it's the 572. He's a real nice guy

from what i read it wasnt just a cab extention.he cut the doors in half then added 6 inches

yeah, he extended the cab, in the middle, so just looking at it, it isn't apparent. he lengthened the cab, doors and even the dash so it all matched

The sad part about this is that truck didn't win best truck at the Dallas show. It went to an El Camino that had a bunch of parts that were machined by the owner. The El Camino has a TON of work in it, but the end result doesn't come close to Mike's truck.

It just goes to show how screwed up the ISCA shows can be.

BTW- Is the bed cover new? That wasn't on ther at Goodguys was it?

Does anyone know where the hood hinges came from? Are they one off's, custom made or are they taken from some other vehicle? I'd like to do something similar with my 72 burb.

Custom made one off's. A similar hinge that might get you where you want is available from Sachse Rod Shop. Look up their adds in Streetrodder magazine.

Classic Trucks voted it "Truckl of the Year". Pretty impressive piece of work! At first I thought it had a late model bed with '67-'72 fenders fitted to it...but that thing is a complete custom job! I like it!
