Np 261 HD transfer case question
My son has a 2006 3500 reg cab 4wd with a 6 in lift. 261 hd transfer case. The driveshaft came out and broke the rear of the Tcase where the seal seats. Driveshaft has been lengthened so thats ok now. .....but tcase is f'ed. I see that i can buy the rear section of the case only for a couple of hundred bucks. It comes with a roller bearing and a bushing in place. My question: is it a viable solution to remove the tcase and swap out the busted section for a new one? Any special tools required? Can i assume that any 'extra' parts i need can be scavenged from the busted section?
I can help him take it out and do the repair....just fishing here for some experienced advice. Thanks, Bill Posted via Mobile Device |
