Bed interchange questions?

Is a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed a direct bolt on to a 2003 GMC Sierra 1/2-ton short bed?

Will my GMC SIERRA TAIL LIGHTS BOLT INTO THE 2005 SILVERADO BED?

Thanks to all who accurately reply.

Re: Bed interchange questions?

As long as the bed isn't a crew cab bed then yes they interchange. All ext. cab/reg cab 1500-2500-3500 beds interchange. As for tail lights the Sierra/Silverado do swap in and out. However the 03+ Silverado Lights have a fourth bulb for parking lights. Just ignore that bulb harness and shove it into the bedside and plug your Sierra lights up. Will work perfectly.

Re: Bed interchange questions?

As long as the Short Bed is the standard 6.5 short bed for both trucks and not the mini 5.8 bed they had on the 1500 CC and some 1500 extended cabs you are good to go.

The bed does not know the difference on the lights as it is the same between Chevy and GMC on that body style.

As mentioned the harness for the lights are different between 03-07 classic Chevy and the 99- 07 classic GMC. They plug in the same at 4 way junction block on the frame though.
