87 gas tank relocation to rear. Who did this??
As Im still gathering all my parts for my 87 GMC conversion. I am relocating my gas tank to the rear frame of the truck. I am removing both side tanks. I want the extra weight on the rear and not the sides .
A forum member here has a 90 suburban gas tank that he is delivering to me. I have read that these will bolt right up. Is this true? I do know there will have to be modifications, but im fine with that. Who has relocated there tank. Pics would be great also. Will this tank hang down low?? |

I don't think the sub tank will work, its too big unless it's the smaller Blazer one. Here's a link to a conversion.

Yup Chris did an excellent write up [like usual] on the swap.

I used a 30 gallon blazer tank with a small amount of fab work for the mounting. I went with a new tank, hence no brackets. This was for a LS swap.

A suburban tank will not fit a shortbed. A blazer tank will. I found out the hard way after removing my bed...
