Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

you will love the ride with the rear air bar setup. I see a lot of guys put their bags on bars and I have done it myself a couple times, but there is no need for 15-20-25 inches of lift in the rear, I never raised mine more than enough to drive. the truck I had my airbar on was hands down the best ride I ever had, sleeve bags ride amazing and handle more weight than most double convoluted bags. I have a whole air ride tech airbar setup including tube front arms here in the garage and its tempting to use on the 47 gmc, but probably will wait for my 46.

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

I have never used this style bag in the rear. But the nice part about the airbar system I have seen so far is that you don't have to notch the frame. to have the running boards lay an inch off the ground. If I remove the bump stops I could lay running board. But if I did that and I ever blew a line or an air bag .I don't feel like dragging my running boards and bumpers till I stop or not be able to roll it out of the way.

Looks like I am going to need to bring the bed down about 6 inches. Got the bed on and bolted up one of the fenders

Found a 5 window cab that is rust free and had the cab corners and floor done for for a good price including glass. I just need to swap my dash parts and brake booster over

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

Took the old cab off the frame today. Installed the trans-dapt S10 motor mounts. But because of the fuel pump bulg sticking out of the block. I had to put the brackets on the frame and oval out the two lower drivers side frame holes. Then put the mounts on the block. Mocked up the blower motor and transmission
