Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion
Ive been curious about this aswell its harder to find 85 and up trucks in my area how far off is the pedal geometry I can fabricate one I just am not sure how different they are. I'm getting tired of the linkage popping off the trans when I wheel hard my truck flexes a lot

I will figure out this mobile crap someday. Anyway, I used a Wilwood 3/4 single master inline with the factory manual clutch pedal and level (and right next to) the brake master.
Connected to the pedal with a 1/4 rod end and renenforced thr firewal with some 3/16" flat bar. Won't work with power brakes though. . Last edited by wraprail; 10-17-2015 at 01:16 PM. |

Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion
The 85+ pedals have torque rods from the pedal bracket to the clutch mounting holes that re-enforce the firewall. You'll need to come up with a suitable alternative to use the older pedals.
Not sure what other issues you'll find. Look up CK RV Brake/Clutch Pedals from 1985-1987. They are out there. http://car-part.com

Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion
I did the change over 5 years ago, so far still running good. I used the set up from a 87 1/2 ton . Heres the link http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=399439

Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion
By chance does anyone have and pics of the hydraulic clutch pedal I know about the reinforcement rods but how different are the pedals themselves. I have seen a writeup on how to mount slave to a non hydraulic bellhousing aswell I just need the under dash help before I decide to tackle this. And like I said it's harder to find them in my area unless you want to buy a complete truck the wrecking yards rarely have standard trans trucks and when they do they are 70s trucks

Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion
I called the salvage outfits listing parts on the website in Post #5 till I found one willing to UPS the whole setup. They included the clutch master cylinder and fluid reservoir because I asked for them. I think it was $45 shipped... YMMV.
