Transfer case shifter pivot bushing?
The shifter on the T221 in my '65 K10 is loose. In particular it slides side-to-side, and generally rattles. I'm assuming at this point there are rubber (or other) bushings missing from the pivot shaft, which is allowing for all this movement and the resulting rattle. Is there a source for pieces like this or am I going to have to make something up? |

Re: Transfer case shifter pivot bushing?
there is a spring that goes between the shifter and the mounting bracket. It keeps the shifter against the outer c-clip.

Re: Transfer case shifter pivot bushing?
no a small coil type spring, but the spring washer might work. maybe 2? A lite wait spring from a hardware store--cut a few coils off--should work.

Thats funny, mine is welded to the hump. Thought they came like that. Damn, another thing to fix now.

Re: Transfer case shifter pivot bushing?
Jimal--there was none on mine. Diagram for adjusting linkage doesn't show any.

Re: Transfer case shifter pivot bushing?
i replaced all the pins in the linkage with bolts with lock nuts to get rid of most of the slop.

Re: Transfer case shifter pivot bushing?
I put all new pins in my linkage as well. In addition, wherever I could, I drilled out the linkage to 1/2" and pressed in 1/2" x 3/8" bushings. This took care of most of the slop and rattling.
