84 p30 chassis 454 smog issues

hey guys, I have a 84 motor home with a 454 carb setup. I removed the air tubes from the exhaust manifolds, disconnected the pump. removed the associated hoses and rerouted the remaining hoses left undone.. I'm quite sure I have them routed right. it runs out way better than before. it refuses to idle though... I'm assuming since I removed the additional source of inert gas the result is a far richer fuel ratio..... am I on the right path with this thought.... adjusting the idle jets should in my opinion remedy the issue.....

any how,,any comments would be appreciated... thanks, steve.
