Does anyone know about an outdoorsman package?

I go to school with a guy who has a 97-99 Chevy that has a decal on the bedside that reads "The 4x4 outdoorsman By: Jeff (something)" The name is in cursive so the last name is difficult to read. I have never seen one before and am not sure if it is some rare package or an aftermarket addition. I will try to upload a picture if I can. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

I have not seen nor heard of one specifically. Might be a local promotional thing. Looks like it might say Jeff Lang. Not sure if there is a famous enough outdoorsie poerson by that name or not.

Definitely not factory. You're probably right about it being a local/regional promo thing.

+3 on the above comments, not factory.

Re: Does anyone know about an outdoorsman package?

I called the dealer this weekend and they said there was no way to look it up in their records. I will try to call them again. Is there any other place to try to get information? I know that it is a 1998 bought in Jacksonville, Florida.

Re: Does anyone know about an outdoorsman package?

You could try calling a GM dealer in Jacksonville.

People put stickers on vehicles and then you get the "Rare, only 4 made!" sales pitch

There's a "Scorpion Edition" Jeep Scrambler that pops up in Texas every now and then. The sellers always act like it's some super rare factory options package, but it isn't. It's either something a local dealer tacked on, or something an unscrupulous former owner did to bamboozle some more money out of a naive buyer.

Dealer added sticker at best. Probably just as likely an owner added "option"

Re: Does anyone know about an outdoorsman package?

It was a factory optional package in 1985. By the time the next body style came around, it may have devolved into a dealer-only package.

You could even get a 30-30 limited edition rifle with it in 1985.
