Re: My 67 short stepside
Thanks Adam for the advice and yes I really like these forums for the been there done that... and should have went another way aspect. Seems like there are some great people in this forum.
Thanks, the peak I think will turn out pretty cool when we finish, a lot like the Goodguys giveaway truck done by Scotts Hot Rods. I do really like the door handles, my wife wants originals but... Have ant pictures of your truck from the side? |

Re: My 67 short stepside
That is why they blend in so much... painted over. sweet idea. Mine will be Dark Sapphire candy blue so I do not think they will show up. Awesome idea though.
What does your interior look like? |

Re: My 67 short stepside
I'm waiting in line for the interior - I'm 'next' so he says. Supposed to be this month, then 4-6 weeks to complete. Ring Brothers and Lokar hardware, scat procar rally seats. Nothing special.
I could've easily built two trucks with all the screw-ups and do-overs I had, no to mention saving a TON of money.

Re: My 67 short stepside
I am going with a buddy seat with Katzskin black leather covers. Maybe some suede to keep me in the seat when corning.
The tires coming loose and not gripping is what I am worried about too. We will see. I guess 800 plus hp anything would loose the grip on the road! |

Re: My 67 short stepside
Adam,
So you have a cage? Did you use the Art Morrison kit or have a shop make it weld it in? Hell of a start on the interior |

Wow, 800hp?! yeah, it only takes about half of that to get loose in one of these trucks on street tires!

Re: My 67 short stepside
Adam,
Your cage look good. I am trying to stiffen the chassis up, so I am going to use an Art Morrison 10 pt and make the door bars low so it is easy to get into. Will have down bars low though the cab and bed. I have the engine built just not dynoed. We are thinking at 15 lbs of boost it will be over 900 hp. We will tune for a little less. Heck it may not make but 700hp, not sure. The parts are there for some serious hp. Going to run some road courses and good guys auto cross events and the Texas Mile. |
