1971 chev 3/4 2wd value?

I am in need of input here.I have always bought/sold 1/2 tons and today a friend called with a lead on a 1971 original camper special 3/4 2wd 396/402 102,000 actual miles -auto and he said in great cond--opinions are always different I know.Truck is a original Texas truck and been in storage since coming to Wis 18 years ago in a heated clean dry shop.NO rust anywhere.
I dont see many out there to compare to but it seems the ---average--- value is a lot less on a 3/4. owner is firm on $6000---Input? ty

Re: 1971 chev 3/4 2wd value?

Without more info or pics or SPID, gonna be hard to assess. All comes down to condition. Sounds like it's a nice one. What is the trim level? Custom, Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne, or Cheyenne Super? Keep in mind that on a 71, the "CustomCamper20" emblem supersedes the trim callout on the fender, so you really need to confirm trim level from the SPID if it's not obvious by the tell tale things included in the specific trim level. A pic and a SPID and we can give you a better opinion. I'll say this much, a $6K truck for a 71 C20 needs to be pretty darn nice. Especially if it's a lower trim level. 402 is a bonus, if it is original and not all hot rodded. To give you a ballpark figure, I sold my 71 C20 CustomCamper, pic below, for around $6k. It had the original 350, replacement TH350, and was a Cheyenne Super. Sold in SoCal - probably could have gotten a bit more in your neck of the rust belt. A 71 C20 Custom Camper is a nice truck to have, at any trim level, but, fortunately for you, not usually on the high end of the scale $-wise.

Has it not been started in 18 years? Pics would be very nice and help a lot

Yes difficult without pics---sorry for the confusion---yes it has been stored but driven occasionally all 18 years.
I spoke with a couple of others and the general opinion is one would sell a 1/2 ton much easier and much higher than the 3/4. TY

Sounds pretty high for a 3/4 & even a 1/2T would be high at that price. Unless a daily driver needing nothing neither would be worth $6G.
