Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

I have one on my 10 bolt, its best for strength to get the stud kit too. Panhead Bar? you mean the rear sway bar? the brake lines run above it and the bar should be far away from it.

Here is some info you might wish to consider: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=684268
I like that rear end cover too, but until I see someone else use it with success with our panhard bar it may have to wait (for me anyway).

Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

You could e- mail Mike at TA Performance, to see if they have any experience in your application.

I may see him tomorrow at the Buick GS Nationals and will ask him, for you.

Also, will take a photo of my DTS aftermarket chromemoly 12 bolt, with cover installed, may help you, better see what it will look like installed. This application does not have a panhard bar.

Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

Info on the TA 12 bolt cover, this one does not have TA on it , but is made by TA , and is same.

Took me longer, to get information back to you, out of town.

If any interest, DTS makes this 12 bolt rear end and is the one Mark Williams sells under their name, super strong.

Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

It shows cover extends back from 12 bolt about 4 inches, e. g. Cover is 4 inches thick.
Hope this helps.

Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

If you are wondering, what the photos were taken on. It is a 1970 Buick GS, C/SA NHRA Stocker.

Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

Nils,
I run an LPW braced cover on the 12-bolt in my '66. It's the Ultimate-series cover. It clears the factory panhard bar on mine without any trouble. My truck is lowered 4" in the rear, also, which puts the bar closer to the cover, but still no clearance issues. I'm not 100% sure, but I would guess that the T/A cover and the LPW cover are pretty close in thickness.

Hi Chris,
thank you verry much for your answer. I take a look on the LPW Cover 201-12T. It looks like the TA/Cover. A nice different i think is that the LPW Cover have a magnetic drain plug. I think that the quality of the Moser, T/A and LPW is the same. What do you think ?

Have a nice weekend.

Re: Chevy 12 Bolt Rear End Cover

Nils,
I would agree with you on that. I'd say that any of those covers would be good quality parts. I bought the LPW cover with the intent of installing the braces on the axle tubes and attaching them to the cover. If you don't plan on adding those axle tube braces, then any of those covers would work well for you.
You have a great weekend, also!
