Question WHITE FACED GUAGES - Replacement in the instrument cluster

Can anyone provide information regarding White faced guages swap into the instrument cluster?

My preference would be to use Autometer guages, but I'd like to install them cleanly in the cluster so it is not obvious they are aftermarket (except the white face of course!).

Any tips, websites or products would be helpful.
Thanks, Greg.

Mike, thanks for the link..... I think!

I feel scared, nervous, challenged to see if I could pull it off and at the same time feel crazy for even considering it!

I do have a few comments, questions:

Only one link opened which shows several pics of the finished product at the top of the page. The other hotlinks within the body of the document didn't open. I assume those are detail pics of the work being done which would be super helpful. Please check and see if you can open the links so I'll know if it's just my puter.

When you mention notching the 'tunnels' 1/4" speedo/tack, 1/2" other guages, you are talking about notching the bezel correct?

When you mention drilling holes to wire the guages down, are you talking about wiring them to the 'bulb shield'? The bulb shield is the retainer which holds the clear plastic lens (which is no longer used) in place. Or are they wired directly to the bezel?

What is RTV?

Some of Autometer's guages come in 2 1/16" and 1 5/8". If the smaller is used, then possibly less cutting of the bezel would be needed for these 4 guages? Having said that I do not believe the pro-comps come in the smaller diameter. Still trying to understand the website, since the 'Silver' model line does not show a speedometer, nor does it list part no's for any of the guages?

Ok, final question, how many bezels did it take to get it right???

Thanks for taking the time to record this work on your webpage, and I hope I can open those other links soon.

And finally, Riptide is correct, it is extremely fine looking in place!

You'll have to talk with bigblock73 (Jeff) about the links. He runs the site now.

Below is the pics which are supposed to open in the links.

On the gauges, they come in 2-1/16" and 2-5/8".

I had an old bezel laying around that I practiced on at first, just to see if it was even possible. I wanted to make sure what I was thinking would work before messing up my new bezel.

RTV is the gasket maker stuff you buy at autoparts stores. I used black.

Anyway, check the photos below. Maybe it will answer some of the questions.
