I originally wanted to make it work that way but the raised floor over the axle makes that hard. May try to get creative with it one day.

At least you will not have to put leveling bags in the back to handle the weight when you transport your bike.

Re: Trucks and Bikes

Was asked for additional C10 / Indian photos.

I bought the 1947 Indian in 1975...for $800.00....tore to frame...built up every nut & bolt.

Very nice bike.
Every time I see a Husky I hear the music from "On Any Sunday" in my head. Thanks for the musical interlude.

Re: Trucks and Bikes

Thanks for the extra pics Fred. They both look great, but that 47 Chief is ___, there aren't words. This is my truck. She started out in late 1959 as the Macon Harley Davison Delivery Truck. She has over a million miles of service. I got the truck, and it was worn slam out. 8 plus years of restoration later and shes good as new. Ready for another million miles. I took the picture in front of the old Harley shop in 2010, on the trucks 50th birthday. Just did make it. They tore the old building down. I did get a few bricks before it went away. The original owner, Mr. Grover Sasaman, is 91 this year and still runs the Harley Shop. Heck, he still rides his side car rig to work. I have a complete history on the truck at 6066GMC Club. Many of you are already members. IF not, take a minute to join and then you can enjoy the dozens of pictures I have in an album there. I was going to try to move them all over here, but it would take 8 plus years. That's me and Mr. Grover at Macon Harley Davidson. He was nice enough to sign my truck. Thanks, GM

Re: Trucks and Bikes

Awesome story on the truck!! I always love to hear the history.

Here is a pic of one of my Micro Mechanics working on his bike as soon as I got my buddies Harley off the lift.

From the background you can see, we work on everything around our house.
The boat standing up was my Grandfathers.

It ain't really broke till I'm done fixing it

What were the original colors of the truck? Same as today? Ever consider replicating the HD graphics? I'm not a fan of phony graphics but these seem kinda legit for this truck.

Re: Trucks and Bikes

1960HDGMC,
Do you have the turquoise/white pan head to go with that FINE Chevy truck?? Nice job restoring and preserving the history!

I bought my 1964 C10 to pull the 1964 Airstream and carry the 1947 Whizzer.

The colors are 1960 GMC Cape Blue and Olympic White. We used the original paint breaks and one stage paint. It is a close as we could get to factory paint. As for the graphics, frankly I am torn. The truck has been wearing those graphics since late 1959. It spent a million miles and 50 years with the badging. But it looks so good to me with the factory paint now. I just don't know what I should do. Any ideas/opinions really appreciated. GM

Very nice! I've got several 81-82 430's and an 82.5 CR500, but they haven't made it into my Big Block Dirt Bike Hauler (the BBDBH) yet. Still getting it ready to haul the bikes.
