Inner tie rod holes

Can anyone give me the hole measurements for the inner tie rods on a 70 drag link vs 71-72?

FWIW...I'm not sure what the diameter the holes are but they are a tappered fit. I believe all of the drag links (1/2 ton) on these trucks are the same unless you have the ram steering assist.

Yes they are tapered holes. The 67/70 are different than 71-72. I bought one that's supposed to be a 71 and I was gonna use the hole sizes to compare to the one I have before I started hunting for another one. It seems like the one I bought is actually a 70 with the smaller hole size

That's the hole size in the drag link or the tie rod thread sizes?

Re: Inner tie rod holes

if u have questions let me know... that picture should clarify.. the 5/8 and 11/16 are tie rod end thead sizes../ the taper idk. but they are all different.because u would need to by a specific draglink/centerlink for your specific yr / they make custom sleeve for this between yrs. im not shure what u are trying to achieve? with taper holes..

The pic you posted is the end that goes in the adjuster sleeve I know what those sizes are. The reason I need the hole size in the drag link is I just put all new front end parts on my truck. I bought a drag link off a 71 supposedly but the tie rods won't bolt up to the drag link. Trying to figure out if I got misled on year of drag link before I bought another one. All front end parts spindle to spindle were purchased for 72 model

Re: Inner tie rod holes

I just bought a 1971 centerlink form a fourm member.had it laying around. the holes sizes for the inner taper are 5/8 and 1/2 ruffle.. I tryed the outters for a test fit from the 70 and 71 both where close fit but the 71 has more taper..

Thank you very much sir. Looks like I purchased a 67-70 drag link by accident. Really appreciate the info

Re: Inner tie rod holes

I had problems figure this out from by one off CL. same thing i ordered 71 spindles.. but didn't match. story short what I end up buying off cl was a +73 box end to end steering.. it bolted up just fine just had to switch out the outers for 1971
