Re: 54 Chevy s10

is that ride tech kit the "HD" kit? I didn't see one for an s-10 that looked like the parts you had. Did you build your own "C" notch kit. Man you got some expensive parts piling up on that ride.. lol Those front arms aren't cheep parts.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

Here's a list of parts I used on the rear.

I cut three inches off the bottom of the notch.

I had the control arms from a project that never took off almost 10 years ago.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

man, it still looks like you spent a G on your rear and no control system for the bags and no front bags. I guess I haven't priced all the parts to do an air bag system. I am trying to build my truck on a very tight almost nonexistant budget. I have less than 2G in it now and don't have much more to spend. I want a v8 but my 235 was rebuilt by the PO and runs great. I have a T5 and Olds Bravada rear so it should cruise pretty good. I lucked out and traded an old boat I had for a decent set of boss 338 wheels and tires. I guess for now I just might do drop spindles in the front and try to get it drivable. attached are some pics of what I started with and my bed being peiced together.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

I know what you mean, my white truck was built with no money, I ran a 100 dollar motor and trans, the frame a cab where given to me. Now it's time to build one the way I want. It looks like you found a good truck to start with.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

The truck is in very good shape for a KY truck. Needs the floor fixed on passenger side where it meets the side panel and drivers cab corner was butchered some time ago. Nothing major. I drove it home with no brakes but e-brake. Ran great shifted good. I don't have a garage to work in so I am doing everything outside. Getting the cab on the s-10 frame is going to be the hardest part. I see a lot of stuff that I would like to do but the funds aren't there right now to do. Maybe if I keep this truck, I can redo it in a few years and put all the other goodies into it.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

Well plans have changed, ended up selling it to my dad. I will try to keep the updates coming. I decided I didn't want Another truck to drive like a s10, going to go with a stock frame and a 4 inch drop axle. Will start a build thread when I start.
