Re: Is the factory DARK BLUE 66' C-10 SWB BBW a RARE COLOR?
My 1965 C10 was a factory dark blue with a white roof. The kick panel plate shows the color as 538AA. The company TCP Global has paint chips you can view online LINK HERE - and look about half way down the page. The Dark Blue is listed as 508 and 12409 beneath the paint chip. Page 2 shows that the code 538 was used to indicate a two tone truck with paint 12409 and a white roof. My code is 538 which makes sense since mine was a white roof and dark blue body truck. The short answer seems to be that a SOLID dark blue truck would have a paint code 508 and a 2 tone truck would be 538.
