Talking 62 Front Shocks

I need to know the best place to buy shock for the front of my 62, it is lowered in front.

I’d suggest shopping for lowered shocks for a 63-85 truck which will have far more listings available. Pick whichever is your favorite. The only difference between the 60-62 front shocks and the 63-85 shocks is the steel sleeve in the upper rubber bushing. Just press the upper sleeve out of your 62 shocks and push it into the upper rubber bushing on the new shocks.

The steel sleeve is needed to keep the original 60-62 frame bracket from collapsing when tightened up. The later trucks use a shouldered stud instead to hold the correct spacing. This will give you a lot more options to pick from.

Before you buy new shocks, measure the front shocks from eye to eye. I just went through this and found out that my shocks were the issue of bottoming out. I had 1/4" of compression travel!

I do not know how many inches I have lowered it, but it's alot.
