Goodyear G 622 Rsd's

I'm tire shopping at the moment for my C 50 pickup build and I found a tread pattern that I think I'm going to buy. If you have owned a set of these or driven a truck with them on it, feel free to give your opinion on how you liked or disliked them. I know they will probably be loud but I'm OK with that, I will be driving this truck less than 10 miles a month. I can't wait to replace my widow maker rims and 20" inch tubed tires. This truck is going to look so bad ass!

I can not speak directly to those tires.... but the tread blocks and siping look very similar ( almost identical ) to the larger "wrangler" series of all weather tires I have run for years here in Alaska on many of my GM light trucks. I like them enough that I have bought many sets over the years.

Larger "wrangler" series? Greywuuf, I don't know what that means.

Re: Goodyear G 622 Rsd's

Sorry I was not more clear. Goodyear makes a series of light truck tires they call "Wranglers" wrangler AT, wrangler x..something etc. They are very very similar in tread design. ....while I have not used the commercial truck series I have used the Larger sizes of the light truck tires (31x 10.5 , 285/75. Etc.)
I do not find that tread design to be noisy (i had them on my daily drivers year round) and the sipping is good enough for street driving in snow rain and ice....they were not a great mud tire....but they did ok for an all terrain street tire. Sorry that is as close as I can come to a decent review. I hope those work out for you as well as my light truck tires did for me.

Re: Goodyear G 622 Rsd's

Well I pulled the trigger on the tires and rims I've been looking at today. I have 6 of the tires being shipped out tomorrow from Calf. I went with the 9r/22.5 Goodyear G 622 RSD's like the one in the above pic. $ 1,830.00 with shipping. As for the rims...... well as you all know, we don't have many choices if we want New rims to fit our trucks and we don't want to change our axels. I read a post from someone on here who just bought a new set of 22.5 one piece steel rims from Wheels.....Now, so I gave them a call today also. I have six of these on order..... They are charging me an extra $ 35.00 per rim to powder coat them bright white for a grand total with shipping....$2,015.50 I didn't really know what I was getting myself into when I started this build with a raggedy old 69 C50 grain truck fresh off a farmers corn field, but here I am now, 10 months into my build and I just spent $ 4,000.00 of my Very hard earned money on a truck that I only paid $2,000.00 dollars for originally I know, I know it's only money right?

Re: Goodyear G 622 Rsd's

Well, their finally on! Wow talk about ass kicking, back breaking work! They look fantastic and ride super smooth, but...... they were soooo freakin heavy and hard to mount on the truck by myself! I mounted them on the rims this morning. I aired them up to almost 120 psi. and let them set for about 1/2 hour before I dropped the pressure down to 70 psi and mounted them on the truck. I am so glad to have radial tires on solid 1 piece steel rims. Those 20" widow makers gave me the creeps this morning. I hated to even remove the tires from my truck let alone break the rubber off of those old rusty rims. I posted all 4 of the dually drive tires for sale on our site for $200.00 plus shipping if someone needs them. Here are a few pics of my hard work this morning.
