Happy birthday to my wife
Jackie and I are downsizing as the 2016 summer move is fast approaching. Last fall I sold my steel 1948 Thames body and Jackie and I decided her Anglia and my blue Thames have to go this summer. Awhile back, she mentioned she liked the looks of 30's pickups. So..........this weekend I contacted a gentleman that had one and a deal was struck......
Bye Bye Anglia Hello handful of cash and a '38 Plymouth pickup. One week early birthday present for Jackie last night. She was reallllly surprised and excited! It is no gem (side glass held in with wood, 2x6 back bumper, etc.) and I will probably have to redo a lot of the prior improvements (narrow front end, lower a country mile,...++), but Jackie is happy and that is what counts!!! She is curious how swapping one vehicle for another fits into the downsizing plan though.

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
It is a really solid truck with only a couple small spots of rust.
She is happy and was extremely surprised. When we got married, her present to me was a '70 Chevelle with a 383 stroker. I think she drove it harder than I did.

Nice truck, and a rare one too. It's good that your family is supportive of your addiction, I mean hobby, LOL.

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
It is a rare truck as only 4,620 were made. The original cost was $585.
The family definitely supports the addition..er..hobby.

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
Well... we drove the Plymouth for awhile and then Jackie decided we only need my extended cab and she wanted something different. I'm sure you remember the hot rod quilt (her first one) she made a while back.
She started making ones for the Airstream (pic's later) and was having so much fun, we sold the Plymouth in July and bought her a long arm quilting machine and a base shell 12 x 32 shed for a work shop. Since then, it has been a busy time getting it set up for her. She started moving in about 10 days ago. She is going to specialize in hot rod quilts and is going to have fun doing it part time for the foreseeable future. As for the 2016 move, there was a comment made that it could take dynamite to get her to leave her quilt cabin behind, so it looks like we'll be here for awhile yet.

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
Apparently I skipped the attic pic. It is in 3 sections and has two openings to get up to them.
The move was to be back to the lower '48, so we wouldn't be able to take the "she shed". I did promise her a larger one as an incentive as she is already saying this one is too small.

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
While I know nothing about quilting that looks like a really nice set up. Great looking building and I like the wood finish on the inside. Cozy.

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
Hmmm. You are giving me ideas...a couple of pad locks on the out side and a slot for a food tray....

Re: Happy birthday to my wife
We are looking at Idaho for more moderate weather, but it won't be for awhile now.
