I think you are missing a digit or two. There should be six numbers at the end (17 places total).

Using the "BB" as a starting point, and taking some liberties, this almost works:

(missing) 1= US Built
C = probably should be a G=GM
T=TRUCK
E=6000-7000 LB GVWR
K= 4x4
1= 1/2 Ton
3= Four Door (doesn't make sense - there were no 4 door 1/2 ton pickups)
H= 305 Engine
6= Check Digit
B= 1981 Year Model
B= Baltimore Truck Assembly
14579x= Production Sequence
