Cab is on the frame. Now I just have to make some back cab mounts out or 4x4 square tube

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

My buddy Chris got the headers, power steering, inner front fenders, fenders on today. Mocked up the radiator surround and radiator. Welded the rear cab mounts and bolted the cab to the frame. We got about a spray can height between the bottom of the fender and the ground with the airbag aired out.

Looks like I don't have to cut a hole on the hood for the blower

Great looking build! Those inner fenders on the bed are slick...where are they from?

Whats holding the front end up from setting the fender on the ground? Was it the height you mounted the cab or are the lower arms hitting the frame? Just curious because i want to get mine to lay out completely flat. Badass build by the way man

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

I have 1 inch of bump stop left after I cut them on the lower control arms. I am planning on putting in my 2 inch drop sprindles. That will get the fenders to touch the ground. No the control arms are not hitting the frame. The cab mounts are 3 1/4" off the frame.

Ahh that explains it! I was worried at first i wanted to avoid a trans tunnel like the plague but want to lay sidesteps. I have 2 inch drop spindles just waiting on control arms right now to install everything. What height tire are you running if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

It's a 28" tall tire and 10" wide. Nice part about drop spindles is it only drops the suspension and doesn't mess with the geometry of the drive train. But if you want it to lay running board. You will have to raise the trans cover. After I put my drop spindles in. I think I am going to put the stock bumps tops back in the control arms because I want my running boards an inch off the ground. So if I blow a bag or have an air leak it will still roll.
