I know they put these in the Jeep Pickups. It was a semi floating Dana 60 in those. Is yours a semi or full float?

I know Ford used a few of them in the '60's.

Re: How rare is a 6 lug Dana 60
Ford never used a 6 lug setup. Jeep used it but only on the Wagoneers if the recall working.
The 6 lug semi-float Dana 60 is pretty uncommon. If memory serves it was only in 1/2 ton 2x4 with the close ratio 4 speed? And I thought it was only '67-'68, but you never know! It was not at all common and would be awesome to swap into a 4x4 that you wanted to beef up the rear without going to 8 lug.

Re: How rare is a 6 lug Dana 60
This is why I bought the frame to do a 4x4 conversion the Dana 60 is a big plus the frame has the manual bell housing cross member in it hoping it is 3:73 ratio as I have a 72 Dana 44 front with disc & 3:73

Re: How rare is a 6 lug Dana 60
3.54 not a common Dana 44 gearset unfortunately, so looks like a re-gear in your future in one of the axles.
I wound up with a semi-float 14 bolt in my Jimmy which is near Dana 60 strength. Only drawback is the c-clip axles instead of bolt in axles like the 60 has, but still a tremendous increase in strength over the 12 bolt.

Re: How rare is a 6 lug Dana 60
Yeah I'll most likely go 3:73s in the Dana 60 definitely a up grade from the 12 bolt
