Re: Dumpinthegutter '62 Build
Nice build, I like the look and stance. Our garages have the same vehicles. I have the 62 I am going to put aside for a pro touring project, just in case I hate the 65 BBW I am restoring as it will be stock.

Thanks!
LT1 - Those are some nice rides. I've been putting some work in on that Chevelle as well. It's coming along nice. Here's a couple pics of it. |

It's a quick performance ford housing. Chromoly axles, Eaton true track, 3.50 gears.

Re: Dumpinthegutter '62 Build
So you can't tell from the previous pics, but the hood got reprinted after it was put on. The guy said he couldn't match the flat........
You think I should go satin on the rest of the black? Or just try and get the hood flat to match? |

Re: Dumpinthegutter '62 Build
That's kinda what I was thinking as well. The guy said he would sand and block the black and spray the rest satin for $1500. When he tried to spray it flat black, it didn't match either. It was a shade lighter than the rest of the truck. I took it to another shop for a second opinion and he said matching the black on it would be pretty hard as well.
I guess my biggest issue is, I'm just not sure if I want to spend the money on paint right now. There are still tons of things to do with getting the motor out and finishing up the floor of the bed. I'd hate to get it painted then mess it up again somewhere in the rest of the work. |

Re: Dumpinthegutter '62 Build
I haven't posted up in awhile. I found a 350, cammed it, headers, etc and swapped the 305 out, ended up putting the big block in the Chevelle. The truck runs and sounds a lot better but it's not fast. When I redid the exhaust I had them run it straight behind the cab instead of dumping, the resonance inside the cab dropped a ton so it's a lot more pleasant to drive now. Here's a couple of pics.
New Motor Don't mind the mess The hired help finishing out the big block on the Chevelle. Last edited by Dumpinthegutter; 11-04-2015 at 12:06 PM. |
