2 questions

First thing I know on 80s model GMs if the blower motor did not work on high the motor was usually bad I was wondering if it is the same for a 69 C10 with AC. My blower motor will not work on high.

Next question, When I take my gas cap off there is some serious vacuum and I mean really serious. If I open it slow it will suck for about 3 full seconds. Is this normal or do I need some type of vent.

#1, not the blower motor, most likely the relay.

#2, you probably need the correct fuel cap...a vented one. You probably have a 71/72 non vented cap on there.

When mine did this, it was a bad switch. IIRC (and it was a looong time ago), I got a new switch at my local NAPA.

My truck is a 72 and the PO took out all the emissions stuff including that vent thing that went up the passenger side of the cab, and just put a loop of hose there. I always get a gas smell in the cab, worse if the windows are down. Would putting a vented cap on help this go away? If not, do you have any other ideas, I'm sick of getting high on the fumes every time I take the truck for a drive.
