Re: 69 GMC c15, leaf spring

Have you looked at any of the squares springs?[73-87]. I have a line on a 72 GMC short bed for salvage, It probably has the leafs as it didn't look to be hard loaded just a regular truck. The leafs were standard on the GMC and optional on the Chevrolet. It was just backwards from the Chevrolet that had standard coils with optional leafs. Jim

Re: 69 GMC c15, leaf spring

The two wheel drive 69-72 trucks use 2 1/4" wide springs (except the Longhorn and probably the C30) while the squares use 2 1/2", so that is out.

Eaton-Detroit can build you stock replacement springs or you can get drop springs from places like Early Classic Enterprises. The other option is to find a parts truck with 2 1/4" leafs. C20 leafs will physically fit but have a higher spring rate and different ride height.
