turn lights on tach goes to 0

ok, i have a sunpro tach installed. i took the white wire for the lights and ran it off of the wire providing light to the cigarette lighter and when i turn on teh lights it makes the tach go down below zero for some reason.... im really confused.

THE HOT WIRE SHOULD BE HOOKED UP TO THE SWITCHED ING.
SPOT ON THE FUSE BOX....

the back light should be hooked up to the courtsy light spot on the fuse box....

the cigarette lighter light plugs into the slot i have shown below. i ran the wire off of the wire coming from here. to clear up any confusion. is this a bad place?

check your ground

My friend's toyota w/ aftermarket tach was doing the exact same thing yesterday.

i grounded it to the dash where the bezel screws to the dash. is this a bad place?

also. my windshield wipers dont work now.... ????????? neither do my turn signals?

Well, that is normally a good ground. Have you cleared up your regulator issues yet?

my tach just did that, it was because the lead from the dimmer came off...bad conection, check that before tearing things apart....
