new member from idaho
bought my 72 gmc from a friend he bought it from the original owners grandson .he had to put it all back together ,he put rims and new tires ,new complete front disk brakes booster and dropped spindles and a bunch more parts including dash pad .I bought it and on the way home I had the exhaust done on it ,I put a single 3 inch exhaust put on which sounds awesome and as soon as I got it home two days later i took the motor out to reseal it ,i replaced all the gaskets except the rear main seal because i did not know how .i had to do everything in a rush cause i had to drive it from boise Idaho to grantspass Oregon .on the way there itleakedoil but it made it also when i checked the motor mounts they looked ok but sure enough they came apart but i did not realize it till i got to Oregon .my shift linkage kept coming off buti did not know why until i got to grantspass Oregon.anyway sorry for the blabbing here's a pic of my truck.next thing is putting in a 402 bb and a th400.

here's a pic of trying to savethe patina I rubbed this side with boiled linseed oil I think I made it look a lot nicer you can tell the difference between the treated side and the non treaded.

Welcome. You can learn a lot from this group. I really enjoy reading about what people do with their pickups.
Problems, and the solutions. Never boring.
