1963 GMC parking brake question.
Buddy of mine has a 63 GMC with the tranny mounted parking brake. The lining on his is completely gone and he's wondering if there is a place to get a lining kit. Are there?

Re: 1963 GMC parking brake question.
I don't know of any relining kits for the trans mounted parking brake. The lining will need to be riveted to the band. It's been many years ago but I had the one on my C60 relined locally, but that business is long gone now. Do you have any businesses locally that deal with logging, industrial, or farming? They might have the capability to reline that band. If not you might be left to find someone online that can reline brake shoes to send it to.

Thanks Captain. I'll have him check around.

McMaster-Carr, kinda like Grainger has friction pad in all kinds of thickness and width. probably cost about 50 bucks for a strip do that .
