The electric exhaust dumps are definitely worth it

Re: Rear disc conversion, is it worth it?
I gotta have a strong e-brake. I leg press my e-brake pedals, and then push one more click for good measure, I just can't help myself, I'm a cable stretcher! So, I say no. Keep the powerful e-brake provided with the current setup.

Re: Rear disc conversion, is it worth it?
Ok, so what kind of electric exhaust dumps should I get? I hear that some of them are junk and start to rattle or go bad. Anyone had experience w/ good or bad electric exhaust dumps? I did do a search on threads here but I know that they've probably gotten better in the last few years.

Like most everyone else says, spend the money for the fronts. If you're worried about your son being safe, it's not so much brakes you should be worried about, a beautiful truck, a built engine with headers and exhaust cutouts are enticing to a young'un and he WILL abuse it. I think I can safely say we were all young once and what did we do??

Re: Rear disc conversion, is it worth it?
Ya, I know...... wishful thinking. He was doing great driving until I gave him the opportunity to drive my Mercedes CL600 on the freeway, oops... Needless to say he is a young driver and didn't give enough distance crossing lanes in front of a semi-truck, we went spinning around the freeway and stopped when we hit the wall. My car was totaled but thank God we walked away just fine. I told him that's his 1 and only accident. It was just a young drivers mistake and me telling him to get over quickly before our exit was passed. Lesson learned. We have 100's of hours into this truck rebuild so I really do think he will be careful given the circumstances.
