72 4x4- Mommy's Madness
Hello. I haven't really started anything on this build yet, but thought I'd at least get started with introducing this poor suburban that I saved from the scrap heap. As the title states, it's a 72' 4x4. It has the original 350 with an sm465 that came out of a 73' blazer. Also donated from the blazer was the power steering. This vehicle spent the majority of it's life as a "crummy", which was just logger slang for a crew bus. It was definitely well used, grease and oil stained the rear floor, which I suppose helped preserve the plywood. Both bumpers and every panel have some sort of damage. Rust has taken over in the lower sections like we see with so many others. Doors are in pretty rough shape, drivers side bottom is nonexistent, hinge points on front doors are very thin. Hopefully I can save these, I don't want to use repop and finding donor parts is pretty difficult in my location. I also have substantial deterioration in the rear passenger floor that will need serious attention. I'm thinking that with a bead roller I should be able to match with what was originally there. Guess I'll have to put that tool on my list. As is the vehicle runs and drives so I don't plan any swaps with the engine or transmission, just replace seals and gaskets and give them the ol krylon rebuild. Hopefully I will start disassembly soon so I can start flooding this thread with pics of the carnage. Anyway, thanks to all for the abundant information on these trucks. I've spent months reading builds and have enjoyed all the different projects going on. Now, time for some pics.

One more. It's sitting at a weird angle because of a flat tire.

As you can see from the last photo, it's getting a new home. Here's a pic from this morning, still have a little bit to do before the burb moves in though.
